Cheap Theatre in Toronto for the Week of February 17th, 2015

It’s always nice when we can lower our threshold for “cheap” – this week it’s actually $20 or less, down from our typical $25 or less per ticket. And there’s a fun variety of shows on this week’s list, including two that honour Black History Month! Check out the full list below.

Black Men In Theatre – Piece of Mine Festival presents 7 contemporary playwrights showcasing new works-in-development including Araya Mengesha, Chevy X and Luke Reece. Commemorate! Theatre (Scarborough Arts). Artist/producer Amani hosts a curated evening of interactive theatre activities and play readings from emerging Toronto theatre artists. Feb 17 at 6 pm. Free. This Side of Heaven by Varrick Grimes and Kiersten Tough (Humber Theatre). This highly physical original production is inspired by the works of Al Pittman, Virgil and Shaun Tan, and explores the space between life and death, and the journey of the soul.
